Jobs

Approved work, with a state you can trust.

A job carries what was sold, what is required to complete it, and every state change it went through. Status is enforced by the server, not by whichever screen was open.

Enforced state transitions

A job and its visits move through defined states, and an illegal move is refused with a reason rather than quietly accepted. Every transition is recorded.

Job lines

What is being done, priced from the price book, plus the change orders added along the way.

Required checklists

A visit that requires a checklist cannot be completed without it. Responses are recorded immutably, so a completed inspection stays as it was answered.

Skill requirements

A job can require a skill or certification, which is then available when deciding who is eligible to take it.

Callbacks

A return visit is recorded as a callback against the original job. Businesses that cannot see their callback rate cannot manage it.

Stale writes refused

Two people acting on the same job at once is normal in the field. A write against a state the server has already moved past is rejected as a conflict rather than overwriting someone else's change.
